Traditionnellement, peu de produits utilisant la feuille de coca ont été brevetés. Mais les entrepreneurs des Andes innovent et créent de nouveaux produits afin d’amener la feuille de coca sur des marchés mondiaux, et vont avoir besoin de breveter leurs inventions pour protéger leurs bénéfices dans ces nouveaux marchés. Sont listés ci-dessous les quelques produits à la coca brevetés, et comment ceux-ci sont structurés. La plupart des brevets déposés dans des pays tels que la Bolivie le sont par des étrangers, oulignant le besoin pour les citoyens d’inventer et de breveter plus.
